AH 314 - 20th-Century Art 3 Credit(s)
A survey and explication of painting and sculpture in Europe and the United States from Post-Impressionism to the present. In an effort to understand the increasing role of abstraction in 20th-century art, special emphasis is given to the artists, including Van Gogh, Cézanne, Picasso, and Matisse, who were among the first to challenge the expectation that art must always imitate reality.
