FIN 604 - Securities Analysis and Investment Management 3 Credit(s)
The course interweaves investment theory with hands-on analyses, using techniques employed by investment professionals. Students learn how to evaluate the risks and returns of financial assets and how to use these features in the selections of assets for investment portfolios. Students also learn how to perform statistical analyses of factors that influence the value of financial assets. They study modern portfolio theory and how it is used to create investment portfolios that meet client’s specific needs. Additionally, they learn how to measure and attribute investment performances. The ultimate goal of this course is to equip students with knowledge and skills to choose a portfolio for a client. Prerequisite(s): FP 601 or BUS 655 .
