FYS 101 - First Year Seminar 1 Credit(s)
The purpose of this course is two-fold: 1) to introduce students to the Widener experience and develop important skills needed to be a successful college student, and 2) prepare students for an interconnected and competitive world by beginning to develop a global awareness, cultural competency, and sensitivity to differences among people. We will embark on a virtual exploration of certain regions of the world and immerse ourselves (albeit virtually) in their cultures. We will embark on becoming critical and creative thinkers who can apply an understanding of diverse cultures, beliefs, economies, technology, and forms of government in order to work effectively in cross-cultural settings. These are crucial skills to address societal, environmental, or entrepreneurial challenges in our globally-connected world. Formerly: FRS 101
