Social media has become one of the most important and influential communication platforms in modern society. Everyone from world leaders, celebrities, brands, and businesses to everyday people of all ages and backgrounds use social media to inform, persuade, interact, connect, and observe. This course introduces students to social media strategy, planning, and campaigns. Students focus on social media writing that reflects a brand’s mission and voice. Course topics include selecting strategies, social media platforms, intentional content management, creating engaging posts for the intended audience, social listening, and influence. Students learn from case studies and practical applications.
