BIOL 219 - Microbiology 3 Credit(s)
An introduction to the basic principles of microbiology. The classification, structure, function, and metabolism of bacteria, fungi, algae, protozoans, and viruses are discussed. The role of microorganisms in human health and disease and the control of microbial growth is stressed. 3 hours lecture. Prerequisite(s): BIOL 121 –124; CHEM 101 -104 or CHEM 105 –CHEM 106 . Credit may be obtained for only one of the following: BIOL 219 or BIOL 319 .
