In this presentation of modern evolutionary theory, the mechanisms, processes, and patterns of evolution are emphasized. The history of evolutionary thought and its impact on the development of the biological sciences is explored. This course is intended to integrate and expand evolutionary concepts from population biology, genetics, ecology, and phylogenetic systematics. Fulfills one interorganismal biology elective. 3 hours laboratory. 3 hours lecture. Prerequisite(s): BIOL 262 , or permission of instructor.
