Elective course for the bachelor’s and associate’s degrees. Required course for legal certificate with a concentration in corporate law.
Comprehensive study of bankruptcy law and practice with an emphasis on consumer filings. The course consists of reviewing different types of consumer and commercial bankruptcies; relevant federal legislation governing bankruptcy; bankruptcy code; and resource materials necessary to bankruptcy practice. The course also emphases procedural rules and responsibilities of all parties involved. This is a legal specialty course. Prerequisite(s): Introduction to Law.
