MIS 358 - Database Management Systems 3 Credit(s)
A study of the technology and management of database information systems. This course surveys various theories of data modeling, emphasizing the entity-relationship and object-oriented models. Topics include data structures, organization, design, auditing, security, and recovery. A leading commercially available database management system is used, and its capabilities are evaluated. The role of the database administrator in the modern corporation is explored. Prerequisite(s): MIS 290 . Students cannot receive credit for both MIS 358 and CSCI 434 .
