SSCI 301 - Understanding Divergent Lives (Honors)

Using the true story of two men who grew up with remarkably shared beginnings but led incredibly divergent lives, one of success versus one of incarceration, this course investigates how life events can translate into turning points from a variety of perspectives. People have experiences in life that can act as turning points, greatly altering their trajectory, and this course examines how the lives of individuals with very similar backgrounds can end with extraordinarily different outcomes. Criminological, political, sociological, and religious themes are discussed.
