ED 537 - Teaching Grammar 3 Credit(s)
The purpose of this course is to examine the origin, nature, and function of grammar. Of primary importance is the parts of speech; phrases, clauses, sentences; sentence structure and form; punctuation; and graphic representation. Students are given the opportunity to examine and to practice teaching grammar in the context of writing. Teaching approaches and techniques are also presented. The role of technology and its application to the teaching of grammar are included. Requisite(s): ED 507 , ED 517 , or ED 518 and ED 511 .
