PT 715 - Teaching and Learning

This course introduces formal educational and learning theory and their applications to the classroom and the client care settings. Students will have the opportunity to learn the process of evaluating learner needs, develop a plan to address those needs, and learn to evaluate the outcomes of the teaching session. Woven throughout this course are opportunities for students to develop self-assessment and conduct peer assessment. This course possesses a service-learning component with which students complete and administer a community health teaching module within the community. The course culminates with a practical examination so students can apply new skills and demonstrate competence in the course content of teaching and learning.
