NSCI 505 - Food Access: Security, Systems and Sustainability 3 Credit(s)
This course provides an in-depth examination of food security, food systems, and nutrition in relation to sustainable farming and social justice with the interrelationship among financial markets, agri-business industries, international trade, public health, and climate change. Topics include community-based strategies to address food systems, social change, and health equity, as well as the role of university-community partnerships to increase food access to nutritious food. The course includes supervised experiential learning activities and lectures.
