NURS 125 - Introduction to Nursing (W)

3 Credit(s)

This course introduces students to the profession of nursing. The concepts for nursing practice related to roles and core competencies are presented as foundational to thinking and behaving like a nurse. Students apply the nursing process and the clinical judgment model within the context of individual and community nursing care. Writing-enriched assignments assist students in the development of self-awareness of their attitudes, beliefs, and values related to the practice of professional nursing with individuals, families, and populations. The writing requirements also facilitate personal reflection and evaluation of the students’ verbal and written communication skills that can foster accountability and self-efficacy in these professional behaviors.
