POLS 319 - Introduction to Constitutional Law 3 Credit(s)
This course introduces the student to the development of constitutions, constitutionalism, and judicial review as a way of granting, limiting, and dividing power within nations; studies briefly the evolution of the Anglo-Saxon common law system as a way of developing constitutional precedents; examines specific cases dealing with judicial review, the scope of powers granted to the federal government, and the division of American governmental authority through federalism. Prerequisite(s): POLS 218 and junior standing or permission of instructor.
