PSY 235 - Forensic Psychology 3 Credit(s)
Psychological research has much to offer to the fields of law and law enforcement. In this course, the potential impact and relevance of empirical psychological research to the criminal justice system is discussed in detail. Topics include basic methodological issues, lie detection, repressed memories, jury selection, line-up construction, eyewitness identification and testimony, courtroom persuasion, and group decision making. Psychology majors must receive a “C” or better in this course to satisfy psychology major requirements. Prerequisite(s): PSY 105 and 3 additional credits in either psychology or criminal justice.
