UPSY 265 - Evolutionary Psychology 3 Credit(s)
This course examines a range of psychological phenomena within the framework of evolutionary psychology. The basic principles of evolution through natural selection are introduced followed by their application to animal and human behavior. Topics include ethnology, food preferences, short-term mating strategies, long-term mating strategies, parental investment, kinship, alliances, aggression, and dominance. An introduction to behavior genetics is also covered. Prerequisite(s): UPSY-105
