RE 406 - Robotic Vision 3 Credit(s)
This course covers basic knowledge and design principles of machine vision methods that have been widely used in robotic systems. The course content starts from the image formation, basic properties of image, lightness and color, edge detection, noise smoothing, image segmentation, works up to statistical image modeling, motion field and optical flow, camera calibration, depth perception, three dimensional vision, image matching, structure from motion, object recognition, object tracking, and other real-world robotic applications. Course projects are assigned to students, and computer programming is used to implement various vision algorithms and tasks. Prerequisite(s): ENGR 315 and RE 301 or EE 346
