PSY 237 - Environmental Psychology 3 Credit(s)
This is a course about how humans interact with the environment: How the environment influences our behavior and health, how our behavior influences the health of the environment, and how sustainability efforts influence both the environment and human condition. Students will come to appreciate how various factors in the environment affect our health and behavior and how our environmental behavior relates to values and societal norms. Topics include carrying capacity and the effects of crowding, noise, and toxins on behavior. The restorative effects of nature on mental health, its positive effects on child development, and other topics are also covered. Prerequisite(s): PSY 105
