This course provides students with the knowledge, techniques, and skills needed to become effective leaders of organizations, groups, and people. Effective leaders acquire the credibility to lead by positioning their organizations/units for desired results and success in the marketplace. They influence external and internal stakeholders by engaging in a range of leadership styles and techniques that are appropriate for the situation. They build and manage effective teams,and deploy a variety of interpersonal and ethical skills to inspire and motivate people into following them. Students learn to understand and appreciate how leadership is exercised at the strategic, organizational, group, and individual levels. Students develop strategic positioning, team building, ethical, and interpersonal skills. Students recognize their own leadership styles and how a wide range of styles can make them more effective leaders.
