UALH 220 - Health Care and the Law

This course covers interrelationships of law and medicine. Topics include the legal organization of health care providers, status of the doctor-patient privilege, the patient’s ‘Bill of Rights,’ analysis of a malpractice case, law of criminal insanity, restrictive covenants in employment contracts, and the definition of death. Emphasis is placed on developing national policies and practices relating to the delivery of health care.
