UALH 214 - Quality Assurance and Image Acquisition 1 Credit(s)
This course focuses on the general care of equipment, functional tests, causes, correction, and prevention of equipment breakdown. Radiographic quality control is emphasized, including processing control and tests for processing quality. JCAHO requirements, including repeat survey, LMP documentation, and other indicators, are presented and projects assigned. The chemistry of radiographic film processing is covered. Manual and automatic processing methods are discussed in detail. Processing errors and film artifacts are explained and illustrated with radiographs. Instruction in the theory and maintenance of processing equipment is given, including processor systems, silver recovery, OSHA requirements, and personnel safety. Film composition is reviewed along with an understanding of image formation. Prerequisite(s): Completion of semester I and II.Corequisite(s): UALH 221
