ENGL 401 - Textual Scholarship 3 Credit(s)
This course serves as the capstone for the Textual Scholarship Certificate and offers students the opportunity to conduct an in-depth project pertaining to the interests they have developed through their coursework in the program. The course combines group reading and analysis of texts pertaining to special topics of interest in textual scholarship, editorial theory and practice, and book history with a supportive workshop environment for the development of an in-depth independent research project. Students are expected to engage with enrichment activities such as excursions and guest speakers, as well as to share their projects with communities of interest within and beyond Widener. This course is required for the Textual Scholarship Certificate.
