FYS 101 - First Year Seminar 1 Credit(s)
FYS 101 is a first-semester first year course that provides the essential tools, resources, and strategies to successfully transition into university life. This seminar will engage students in a variety of activities, discussions, and assignments to promote self-management, self-awareness and self-advocacy. Key topics include time management, study skills, campus resources, goal setting, diversity, inclusion, belonging, and wellness. Students will enhance their critical thinking, problem solving, and communication skills while building supportive connections with peers, faculty, and staff. This seminar develops skill sets to help students thrive academically, socially, and personally in the collegiate environment.
