This course explores the historical development of social theory, investigates theoretical traditions and concepts, and promotes the application of theory to explain thought and action in our contemporary social world. The course covers the sociological canon, ranging from the “classical” to “contemporary” eras.
Prerequisite(s): SOC 105  or SOC 204
