CHEM 135 - General Chemistry for Engineers

This general chemistry course is for civil, electrical, and mechanical engineering majors required to take a single semester of chemistry. Topics covered include elements, atomic structure, chemical reactions, stoichiometry, gases, thermochemistry, periodic properties, chemical bonding, molecular shapes, valence bond theory, molecular orbital theory, and intermolecular forces. Engineering and sustainable chemistry applications are emphasized. 3 hours lecture and 1 hour recitation.
