NURS 885 - Doctor of Nursing Practice I 4 Credit(s)
This course will provide the doctor of nursing practice (DNP) student the opportunity to incorporate strategies of health promotion, health maintenance, disease prevention, ethics, advanced technology, clinical and systems management techniques in health care. Using current evidence-based findings and practice inquiry skills, the DNP student focuses on client and/or health care system management. Application of sophisticated information technology tools and techniques to manage the clinical and administrative components of full-scope advanced practice will be emphasized. Further, ethical, legal, health equity, and health policy considerations in all areas of advanced nursing practice and the application of population health concepts of advanced clinical practice will be emphasized. Students prepared for independent advanced practice leadership and/or the expert clinician role will conceptualize and design the DNP project. Human subjects’ approval will be sought during this course.
