CED 644 - Appraisal, Assessment and Psychological Testing

This course is an introduction to appraisal, assessment, testing, and measurement. It aims to establish an understanding of the issues involved in measurement of abilities, achievement, attitudes, interests, behavior, and personality. Reliability, validity, sampling, item analysis, and descriptive statistics are topics in the course, as well as interpreting scores. Cultural issues related to assessment, as well as the ability to evaluate critically assessment techniques from a practitioner perspective. A survey of ability, achievement, and personality tests, in addition to mental health and interest inventories are foci. An understanding of individual and group approaches to assessment and evaluation are included.
