CED 645 - Family Systems Theory and Counseling 3 Credit(s)
This course serves as an introduction to family systems and marital/couple counseling. A survey of the approaches germane to counseling families and couples are examined. Specific therapeutic skills and techniques related to families and couples are presented, and practice opportunities are offered. This course requires field exploration, application, synthesis, critical thinking, and participation in dyads/small group activities. Additionally, social justice, multiculturalism, diversity, and ethical behavior as it relates to working with families and couples are recognizable foci.
