Students must earn a grade of B or better in all practicum classes (HSED 690, 695, 696), in all research courses (510, 714, 850, and 851), and in all core methods courses (643, 625, 626, 562, 662, 669, and 618/619). Failure to do so will require students to repeat the course, often extending the student’s course of study.
Student Status
Students must enroll for a minimum of 3 credits each semester. Part-time students typically register for at least 6 credits, and fulltime students register for at least 9 credits. Taking more than 10 credits a semester requires advisor approval. Students who do not enroll in a semester must apply to the program director via the administrative office for a leave of absence (see Leave of Absence section for more information). Students who do not enroll for two or more subsequent semesters without permission will have their student status changed to inactive. After two years of inactive status, a student must reapply to the program and have their transcripts analyzed for currency.
