The disciplines of the school use dynamic teaching, active scholarship, personal attention, and community involvement in order to foster leadership, ethical and professional decision-making, interdisciplinary dialogue, a competent responsiveness to the needs of a culturally diverse community, and a commitment to the value of lifelong learning.

Student Status

Students must enroll for a minimum of 3 credits each semester. Part-time students typically register for at least 6 credits, and fulltime students register for at least 9 credits. Taking more than 10 credits a semester requires advisor approval. Students who do not enroll in a semester must apply to the program director via the administrative office for a leave of absence (see Leave of Absence section for more information). Students who do not enroll for two or more subsequent semesters without permission will have their student status changed to inactive. After two years of inactive status, a student must reapply to the program and have their transcripts analyzed for currency.
