As of 1/1/2022, the Pennsylvania Department of Education will issue pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade special education certifications.  Appropriate coursework focusing on PK-12 grade competencies will be required.  Those seeking a PK-12 Special Education certification as their initial PA Level I Certification will also be required to complete a semester of student teaching.
