*Students may begin the Spanish major or minor with one of the following courses: SPAN 101  , SPAN 201  , or SPAN 301  . Please contact the Chair of Modern Languages regarding which level is most appropriate for students who have studied Spanish previously, or who have had extended noninstructional exposure to and experience with the language. Students beginning above the 101 level do not need to make up those credits with additional Spanish courses. Students may not take a course for credit at a lower level after having received credit for a more advanced course. This includes transfer credit, AP credit, and dual enrollment credit.

**Students must complete a minimum of 3 credits of a laboratory science course. Please note that many lab science courses are four-credit courses while others are 3-credit courses. Students should consult their academic advisor when selecting a lab science course.

The program of study that appears here applies to students who were admitted for the summer session of this catalog year and later.  Students admitted prior to that term should select the appropriate catalog year of their admission.  Choose previous catalogs from the Home, Graduate, or Undergraduate Catalog Page at http://Catalog.widener.edu.
