The Certificate in Human Services Foundations provides students with the opportunity to acquire advanced skills grounded in theory, research and best practices. It is expected that students will:

Develop an understanding of the historical, social, political, and economic forces, which have contributed to the development of the human services profession.

Develop an understanding of models of effective organization and administration, the impact of organization culture, and principles of effective supervision and communication in human services related environments.

Understand the basic principles of change and administration in communities and organizations and the impact on human services related delivery systems.

Acquire knowledge and skills associated with effective decision making in human services related organizations.
