Students will benefit from increasing their knowledge of critical issues including healthcare trends; communication in the fields of health and medicine; and assessment methods designed for healthcare education. It is expected that students will:

Differentiate and construct professional documents genres (e.g., memos, e-correspondence, resume/CV, short proposals) for various audiences.

Effectively communicate ideas through writing while integrating scholarly research and learn to write with a particular target audience in mind.

Analyze ways in which the healthcare industry responds to health disparities in the United States.

Think critically about the complex web of social forces that leads to health disparities in the United States.

Use assessment methods designed for health care education.

Enhance their ability to identify issues among the health care community

Program Requirements:

Must comply with all general requirements of Widener University relating to the governance of graduate programs.

Must complete at least 9 credits of graduate work in the certificate program.

Must complete all of the degree requirements within a total of five calendar years.

Must maintain a minimum semester and cumulative GPA of 3.0 in all program coursework. Must earn a “B” or better in all courses.
