61–63 semester hours of credit required for degree

This program is designed to prepare students to become x-ray technicians. Upon successful completion, students are eligible to sit for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) exam. The degree awarded is the associate in science in allied health—radiologic technology.

Program Requirements

Prerequisite academic courses that are necessary for admission and degree program courses can be taken through the Center for Graduate and Continuing Studies online. Following admission to the program, 24 months of radiologic technology courses and clinical training will be taken at Crozer–Chester Medical Center and its clinical affiliates. Students will receive Widener credit for all Crozer-Chester courses and clinicals and will be required to complete their degrees before sitting for the national registry board examinations.

Admission Requirements for the Radiologic Technology Program

  • Completion of pre-requisite courses
  • Completion of a medical terminology course is recommended but not required
  • 2.50 or higher GPA

Additional Preclinical Requirements

  • FBI fingerprint
  • Background check
  • Pennsylvania child abuse clearance
  • Physical and drug clearance
  • Interview with Crozer radiologic technology program director
