Return to: Areas of Study by Type
The minor offers students a broad-based knowledge of mechanical systems, electronics, sensors, controls, and programming in the pioneering and expanding field of robotics. The curriculum includes topics from electrical and mechanical engineering. It also provides hands-on experience in robotics systems. This multidisciplinary curriculum enables engineering students to pursue their major field of study with a component of robotics with automation for employment in manufacturing, defense, robotics sales/service, and a host of other industries. To complete the minor, a student must satisfy 15 semester hours, some of which are satisfied through engineering major requirements and/or technical electives. Interested students should consult with their advisor as early as the freshman year.
