PSY 376 - Educational and Psychological Testing 3 Credit(s)
This course covers the basics of psychological assessment, including its history and development, the concepts of reliability and validity, the importance of standardization and norming, major intelligence and personality tests, diagnostic interviewing, psychopathology assessment and diagnosis, the self-report method, behavioral assessment, neuropsychological assessment, and specialty topics chosen by students to match their interests. Via assigned readings, lectures, and some hands-on experience, students become familiar with the difficulties of assessing unobservable, hypothetical constructs with the methods and materials psychologists have developed to assess them. Students cannot receive credit for both ED 376 and PSY 376. Prerequisite(s): PSY 105
