Fundamentals and applications of conduction, convection, and radiation heat transfer. The conservation equations, the heat conduction equation, steady and transient heat conduction in one, two, and three dimensions; formulation of convection problems, thermal boundary layers, similarity solutions, integral method; radiation view factors, view factor algebra, radiative exchange between gray diffuse surfaces. Prerequisites: undergraduate fluid mechanics and heat transfer.
