PT 895 - Advanced Practice Cardio Pulmonary

This course provides students with background on advanced topics related to the cardiopulmonary system. Students learn about advanced exercise testing, including Bruce protocol stress tests; gain advanced knowledge of pacemakers and defibrillators; and interact with cardiopulmonary professionals around topics such as working pediatric patients with assist devices, advanced heart failure, and heart transplant. The course includes independent study opportunities, observation opportunities, journal reviews, and in-class discussions. This course is conducted in a small group format.
