This course focuses on the advanced practice role of the clinical nurse specialist in the promotion of health and the prevention of disease of late adolescents through older adult population. Concepts related to the care of late adolescent through older adult across the wellness - acute care continuum are examined including health promotion and evidence-based practices. Disease development, treatment priorities and value-based care are incorporated with an understanding of aging and chronicity. A focus on pathophysiology and disease management will be incorporated with an understanding of aging and chronicity. Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) serve as role models, preceptors, and specialists for the experiential learning with this course.
