HPE 702 - Academic Faculty Bootcamp

Academic Faculty Bootcamp is taken either as a stand-alone course or as the first course in the Education Track. Students can take this course without acceptance or matriculation into the PhD program. Academic Faculty Bootcamp is an introduction to academic culture, promotion and tenure, and Boyer’s scholarship categories. The course is taught from an interprofessional lens and covers the Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC) core competencies. Additionally, content includes an overview of syllabus development, learning objectives, and student assessment, as well as exposure to accreditation standards and criteria. Students create a syllabus incorporating IPEC core competencies, as well as a personal academic professional development plan.
