BIOL 327 - Functional Anatomy of Mammals 4 Credit(s)
This is an integrated lecture/laboratory course. Mammalian body function is studied in the context of the underlying anatomy with a focus on homologous human structures. This course surveys the functional implications of variations in forms at both morphological and microscopic levels. Particular attention is paid to the morphology of the musculoskeletal, neurosensory, and digestive systems in the context of locomotion and acquisition of food. The organization of the central nervous system & motor pathways, cardiovascular-pulmonary, and urogenital systems are also examined. Fulfills one organismal biology elective.
3 hours laboratory. 3 hours lecture. Prerequisite(s): BIOL 262
