RE 412 - Optimal Control 3 Credit(s)
The concept of determining optimal automatic control solutions through analysis and calculus of variations is explored. Demonstration of controller efficacy through simulation in Matlab Simulink environment is required. Topics include defining performance metrics, the Riccati equation for optimal feedback in state space systems, linear quadratic regulation, and Kalman filtering. Advanced topics including H-infinity control and LQG/LTR will be discussed. Prerequisite(s): EE 471
