RE 413 - Soil and Robot 3 Credit(s)
This course introduces the theory of soil-robot interaction and related practice on robot control and design for extraterrestrial exploration, agriculture, and mining. Terramechanics and granular mechanics will be introduced for the design and control of all-terrain robots and excavating end-effectors. Discrete element method (DEM) simulation software and lab testbed will be used for students’ course projects.
