NURS 886 - Doctor of Nursing Practice II 6 Credit(s)
This course builds upon DNP I (NURS 885 ). Using current evidence-based findings and practice inquiry skills, the doctor of nursing practice (DNP) student focuses on diagnosis and management of acute episodic and chronic diseases across populations and/or health delivery system quality, ethics, policy, and leadership. They finalize the planning for and implement the DNP project. Application of sophisticated information technology tools and techniques to manage the clinical and administrative components of full-scope advanced practice will be emphasized. Further, ethical, legal, health equity, and health policy considerations in all areas of advanced nursing practice and the application of population health concepts of advanced clinical practice will be emphasized. Students are prepared for independent advanced practice leadership roles and/or the expert clinician role. Human subjects’ approval will be sought during this course. Prerequisite(s): NURS 885
