Human capital is the most valuable resource that organizations deploy to improve performance and sustain competitive advantage. Research in a variety of organizations has linked human capital management to improvements in sales revenues, factory safety, stock market returns, and even student scores on standardized tests. This course seeks to create business leaders who understand the importance of human capital management and can operate a firm’s human capital levers to achieve superior results. Students will learn to build a workforce with the mindset, behaviors, and values that can execute the firm’s strategy. Students will acquire skills in talent management, performance evaluation and management, employee development, diversity management, labor relations, and culture management.
