HSED 503 - Introduction to Sex Therapy Certification

This course is the first in a sequence of courses for the sex therapy certificate program. In this course, students will learn the basics of AASECT certification, the dispositions required of a sex therapist, the AASECT professional code of ethics,
along with basic content in human sexuality including, but not limited to, sexual development, sociocultural and familial factors related to sexual values and behavior, health and medical factors that influence sexuality, sexual exploitation, sexual abuse, sexual harrassment, sexuality related to substance use and abuse, and history of the discipline of sex research and professional practice.
