Higher Education Leadership and Administration, Certificate

Return to {$returnto_text} Return to: Areas of Study A-Z

Beginning graduate students may enter the certificate in higher education leadership and administration and complete coursework in three consecutive semesters. The five courses are determined by advisement, which allows students to customize the certificate based on specific professional development needs and career goals.

Total Credits: 15

Following satisfactory completion of the certificate, students may matriculate in and complete the M.Ed in Higher Education Leadership in just three additional semesters.

By stacking the certificate and master’s degree programs, students may complete the masters in just 18 months while working full-time, and the combined certificate and masters is provided at a reduced tuition cost.

Students interested in the doctoral degree may continue on this stackable pathway. Following successful completion of the master’s degree program, students only need to take one additional content course, the research methods courses, and complete the dissertation. With careful planning and advisement, a student may complete the doctorate following the masters in just two years.

The program of study that appears here applies to students who were admitted for the summer session of this catalog year and later.  Students admitted prior to that term should select the appropriate catalog year of their admission.  Choose previous catalogs from the Home, Graduate, or Undergraduate Catalog Page at
