Students with a communication studies degree can work in almost any industry. A communication studies degree sets you up for hundreds of career choices. Communication studies majors develop essential professional and life skills: confident public speaking, effective interpersonal communication, leadership, social media strategy, and collaborative teamwork. They also gain hands-on creative experience in video and audio production, studio operations, photography, and graphic design. Our majors grow intellectually through our core courses in visual literacy, digital citizenship, communication ethics, communication theory, research, and the senior capstone experience. Graduates leave the program with a powerful combination of critical thinking, creativity, and strategic communication abilities—skills that employers consistently rank among the most valuable in today’s workplace.
