CHEM 176 - General Chemistry II 3 Credit(s)
This is the second semester of chemistry for science, biomedical and chemical engineering, and pre-med programs. Topics include gas laws, colligative properties, kinetics, equilibria, acids/bases, buffers, titrations, thermodynamics, electrochemistry, and molecular orbital theory. An understanding of how chemistry applies to living systems and the natural world, green chemistry, and sustainable chemistry applications are emphasized. 3 hours lecture. 1 hour recitation. Prerequisite(s): CHEM 135 and CHEM 137 or CHEM 175 and CHEM 177 . Take one of the following: MATH 101 , MATH 120 , MATH 131 , MATH 141 or score at least a Level 3 of Mathematics Assessment.Corequisite(s): CHEM 178
